Men of valor
We held out like a tough warrior
All this while in the interior
Living the life we thought was the peak
Never knowing it was just a bleak
We could have surrendered once
When we had the chance
But what becomes of the younger ones?
They might become kids with no inheritance.
So we still held out in the wood
As much as we could
So we won't be called a failure
But will be the epitome of valor
We faced the lion itself in the dark
Wasn't as easy as we thought
As the fight gave us all a mark.
People rested while we fought
But what could we have done
Other than holding on.
Now we've fought and conquered
We gave all that was required.
To the ones we lost on the way
May you find your souls laid down to rest.
And may we never break away
From the legacy we got at your bleeding chests.
